Glitching, Stretching and Out of Sync Visuals

hi.

ive been doing some major testing linking ableton on one laptop to resolume on another via ethernet midi network.

the specs of both machines are the same. 2.66GHz i7 MacBook Pros with 4GB RAM. They both have 2 graphics cards (Intel HD 288MB & NVIDIA GeForce GT330M 512MB). Im running Snow Leopard 10.6.5

I have been getting some very elastic graphics playback with some obvious stretching back and forth and jittering/glitching. The problem is not sync as this is fine. i have offset the midi clock in ableton and resolume is now in time. it is the playback that is the problem.

The visuals are encoded at DXV and im running resolume 3.3.1. The are 1920x1080 and there are only 2 layers playing at a time. The material is animated and is very rhythmic so it must be in time with the music from ableton. When it isnt in time its obvious as it is so rhythmic.

The problem happens much more when the frame rate drops from 60 to 25/30 which is when i playback to an external monitor or projector but the problem is still noticeable on the screen of the computer.

Please see the attached file for a crash report and to see pictures of resolume quitting and me expanding the preview window. They both produce some very odd results.

My fried has a core 2 duo mac with leopard 10.5 running the same version of resolume and these problems do not exist on his machine. Resolume also quits about 5-10 seconds faster on his machine than mine.

These are all sure signals that resolume is not as happy on my machine than his.

Can you please have a look at these files and tell me what you think? I would greatly appreciate some help in resolving this because at the moment it is holding me back.

I also have to use -180ms of clock sync offset from ableton to get the visuals to play back in time with ableton. They are very rhythmic animations and playback out of time if i dont minus offset the clock.

Is this amount of latency into resolume expected?

i forgot to mention that the visuals are running from an external g-tech mini raid drive with firewire 800.

my other laptop has e-sata on pci-e card but i have tried this and not noticed a difference.
