Mapping using a mask.

Post by cbradley1 »

I am attempting to create a simple mapping project on a church window. The window will be similar to the one below.

I want to be able to input different video into each segment of the window. I believe this can be done through creating a mask. Could anyone advise me how to create this mask. I would also like to have the outlines of each window as one layer.

I have already looked at this tutorial (http://www.resolume.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6151) which shows the concept but it does not really go in to detail of how to do it.

The projector will be outputting at a resolution of 1024 x 768 and I know the exact area that will be projector will hit.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks,

That's a pretty comprehensive tutorial/walkthrough. Which part do you need help with?

Before you spend a lot of time on this, I'd suggest testing a projector on the window... you're projecting on something that's designed to let light through, so chances are your projections are going to fire right though the glass ;)

Yeah, not to worry I have already checked that the light doesn't go through. It actually works surprisingly well.

I have set up all the masks now and have it working. I have several different columns set up with different video. Is there a way to automatically select a different column, say every ten seconds. Without having to manually change it.

Also, someone mentioned to me some software called 'junction' which can be used to read data into resolume, but I can't find it anywhere. Has anyone heard of this?

Thank you.
