can someone take pity on me and recommend a specific video card for my computer that costs less then $200?
i'm a total newb when it comes to computers but very excited to learn! i attached two files with info from my computer, i hope they are sufficient. the computer was built by a friend and not bought from a store. the research i've done leads me to think my video card is integrated in the chip-set. I know I need "ATI Radeon HD 2600 (or later) with at least two outputs and a TV-Out" but i'm not sure which current models are comparable (I think the 2600 is older). any suggestions are much appreciated!
thanks a bunch
Meg

Re: best video card for my pc?
How many outputs are you after? is it just a simple card that is under $200 dollars that has an output? have you looked at the ATI Radeon HD 2600 as you mention? or any later cards? which country are you based?
Just looking at the date of this thread i know it was a while ago. Have you managed to get a card sorted?

Re: best video card for my pc?
I need two or three outputs. I'm based in North America (USA). The projector I have now has HDMI output, as well as S-Video and a few more, I'm hoping to get a second projector soon. I will be projecting behind a band at a live show. I like to use large Adobe AfterEffects files with two or three layers and one or two effects.
How important is the memory that comes with a card, is 512MB good?
There are so many cards with ATI Radeon HD 2600, made by different manufactures, I'm not sure which one to pick. I found this one on sale: ATi Radeon HD 2600PRO Super 512MB PCI Express VCD w/HDMI DVI, is that a good company?
Thanks!
