I noticed both clips don't run smooth when on external fft audio.
But when I move my mouse it continues with no delays.
So I think there is still some adjusting to do.
Probably some effects are still run by mouse control.

I'll be happy to take a look at the code witch I allready leeched from the site.
Maybe my rookie as3-experience can make some sense of it.
