Flash Graphical Interactivity and Links

Post by pfelberg »

Hi.
I own a custom mosaic image engine. This engine creates mosaics from hundreds of images.
I use a mouse controlled selector to choose an image area, for a start. After clicking there´s a zoom in revealing all mosaics. I can keep clicking whrerever I want inside the image and zooming continues untill another picture takes the entire screen. Then I just select another area and start over again. The process can never stop.
I am capable of loading the SWF file inside Avenue and "play" it. But I cannot have control of the mouse/selector while Avenue plays the file. So, no movement. No mosaics.

I wonder if there´s already a solution for this or if it is possible to load a flash movie like this...
- load a "placeholder" of the flash file to be played;
- the "placeholder" actually links to an outside flash file which I am actually playing in a third window, ouside Avenue´s environment. So whatever link, animation or intercativity happening inside that running flash wndow would be taken, replacing the flash placeholder inside Avenue´s output.

How does it sound?

I think the easiest way would be to change the .fla file to have two sliders 'published' to Avenue, giving you control over the x and y position in your mosaic.

I hope that makes sense!

humm. I wouldn´t know how to do it, since I am no coder at all, but yes it makes sense.
Not very fast in performance, but does make some sense. Yet, I need a "click" or "go" option after selecting the mosaic area by using the sliders.
