Good way to update Resolume?

Post by Thelooca »

Hi,

just downloaded the 4.1.1 (yeah i know, it took a while, but the bug fixes weren't that important to me) and i was wondering what's the best way to update from 4.1. When i purchased 4.1, i was able to load everything in from 3.3.3 but now i'm not able to load everything in from 4.1.

Is it okay just to replace the aplication icon inside the 'older' folder?
Should i deregistrate before installing a new update?

(i'm on mac btw)

thx!

can you not just open your project in the updated Resolume version? :)

that doesn't seem to work. Think that's because my plugin's aren't available and/or the folder has a different name.

have you tried copying your plugins over? do you have a lot of presets from those plugins?

User plugin presets are stored in a different folder than the app, so you will keep them when you update. The same goes for registering, there's no need to de-register when updating.

It's best practice to keep your 3rd party plugins separate from the Resolume ones, and assign this folder as a second FFGL plugin in the prefs. This will also carry over when updating.
