Hey Guys,
I'm not sure of this has been asked before but here it goes.
I never made the switch to version 4 as at the time of its release I had no need for it - due to the company I freelance for I needed to use another program.
However I am looking into using Resolume for a new residency where i will be doing a permanent Dual Head to go Setup. The Clips i will be using are 2048x768 and it will be straight to the projectors. No mixers etc. Resolume will be controlled by a APC 20.
I've created a bunch of content and I started to test in Avenue 3.3.3 using the latest DXV codec 2.2
Ive been using 2 layers and getting a FPS of around 19/20. When switching decks it can drop further and playback is stuttering as would be expected.
Now using the same clips in Avenue 4.1.2 and using 2 layers im getting a reading of 29/30 FPS which is much better but still not desirable when switching decks as its down to about 23/24.
So this makes me wonder is version 4 considerably faster?
Disabling the blending modes does speed things up but still not what i want.
I know a solution would be to buy a SSD and is this what's recommended?
Will i see much of a difference with Ave 3 or is running Ave 4 with an SSD the better option?
Anyone had any similar issues?
Cheers
