REAL SIZE VIDEO/IMAGE INSIDE THE SLICE
I've noticed something, and I don't know if it's a bug or what it really could be, but with a slice of 2566x1680 (for example), if I drop an FHD (1920x1080) screenshot directly into the project, drag it, and only slightly enlarge it to fit within the slice size, it has better quality than when I use the SLICE effect on that screenshot (where even at its original size, it's small). However, when I leave it at the full slice size, it loses quality... this is just an example from a PowerPoint presentation with a lot of text. Why does this happen when using SLICE on images, videos, and sources?

Re: REAL SIZE VIDEO/IMAGE INSIDE THE SLICE
I have the same question or Issue?
I have not been able to find out the reason behind.
If I have a Slice of 895x100. and my media is 895x100
If I Transform it into the slice, the size is tiny and I have to scale the video 200% to 1000%.
I would have thought that making the media the same size as the slice would have made everything correct and would avoid me scaling.

Apparently I'm not the only one to notice this.ScottCoumbe wrote: Sun Dec 21, 2025 18:29 I have the same question or Issue?

On several occasions, I've encountered this issue and haven't been able to identify the reason. It seems that the slice created doesn't match the file size; that is, if both have the same resolution, the Arena slice loses its identification, requiring us to increase the scale.
I noticed this and it caught my attention more in a recent job I did for a company, where the panel was a bit larger than FHD, something like 2016x1344, and when I put the capture (Blackmagic) inside the slice and asked for the size to be "Original", it simply became much smaller (720p).
I believe it should respect the actual size of the capture, or even the image or video, but it loses the reference and adjusts to a completely different resolution. Because of this, we have to manually adjust, which results in a loss of quality.

Have you tried placing your slice transform effect above the native transform effect of the clip?

In my case, I always apply the "slice" I want to use to the video/image directly without moving its position.Christoph wrote: Sun Dec 21, 2025 23:01 Have you tried placing your slice transform effect above the native transform effect of the clip?
I think it's worth a try, but I shouldn't have to do that every time, right?

Re: REAL SIZE VIDEO/IMAGE INSIDE THE SLICE
What I realized using this solution:
In the case of 1080x1920 images (vertical FHD), when slicing, it managed to fit within the size.
But even at the 3840x1080 size, it became smaller despite the artwork being at the correct resolution, and when I used SliceTransform to increase the size, it filled in, but I noticed that when working with the scale, it doesn't stay centered.
