Post by marty »

hi,
i'm wondering what you thik about this mobile machine :

Processor Intel ® Core™ Duo Processor T7200 (2.00 GHz, 4 MB L2
cache, 667 MHz FSB)
Chipset Intel® 945GM
Memory 1024MB 533MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x512)
Two user accessible SoDIMM sockets
Hard Drives 120GB (5.400rpm) SATA Hard Drive
Graphics 256MB ATI® MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400
HyperMemory(TM) graphics card

I'm not so sure about this graphics card, because
i don't know whether is it good enough for the resolume. The graphic gard can not be changed because it is fixed for this configuration by the DELL.

read deeper into some hardware posts. Video card is basically irrelevant for resolume, as it uses cpu for all it's video processing. As long as it has a tv out option. Don't know that specific processor, but it should be enough for resolume. The dual core is also irrelevant for resolume, but i know it helps with a lot of other things, so it's no reason to turn away from it. I have a dual core. The hard drive though - it's really not good enough. you need at a minimum a 7200rpm drive... You could always go external to get this speed, but i find it helps if all your hard drives are fast. Personally i use raid to achieve this.

i'm using thinkpad 1.8g duel, 512mb memory, ati X1400 128mb dedicated with s-video output - external 7200rpm HD. it runs RESOLUM very smooth- i'm testing version 2.4 and the graphic card is excellent- my 2 screen is a simple t.v
