Glad you're keen on the 3.3 release, SynC. The request for the keypress search has already been added to the to-do list, but unfortunately won't be a part of this update.

Once released, you can update to the new 3.3 version by using the update tab in the preferences, or download it directly from the website. What I meant was that you can always enquire via email as to how things are going with a particular bug or request. That's usually easier and more direct than via the forum.

We would love to improve this too, it's annoying for us to fix because it requires some fundamental changes and it only happens on the mac and only on slightly older computers. (including my macbook pro)
Hi Bart,

Is this really only an old Mac Issue? it seems to be affecting VJsynC on his new macbook unibody too. Any insight on what the issue might be if it requires fundamental changes? I'm thinking of upgrading to a new MBP but, I'm worried that I might still have the same problem.

Thanks.

I've not seen a report of this issue from VJsynC - he has simply hijacked the thread to moan about slow deck loading performance which isn't the same issue at all (actually its not an issue - deck loading takes as long as it takes to load all the clips that are in the deck, big decks take longer than small decks, decks with long clips take longer than decks with short clips - IE the clips are read from the hard drive and loaded into the app. The faster your computer the faster your decks load)

I haven't seen the interface slowness issue on my MBP, I have the fastest non-unibody that they produced 2.6ghz Core2duo, 512mb GeForce 8600 GT.

Sleepy, you should really read the topics, i'v responded to bart concerning that issue, but i can write it down again:

it is not happnening in old machines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have a new shinny and powerfull macbook pro that I even paid more for better hard drive rpm.

And by the way, i am loading decks with all dxv media and a very reasonable not sized deck, with for example 3 lines and 11 columns, the enough to fill the screen, and this (the minimum, i believe), takes ages to load.

but yet again, this is an old issue that is beeing solved by them, all we had to to is wait, obviously that i cannot expect decks loading in a 0.2 milim of a second, but really, 5 to 7 seconds to wait for a deck to load its even for the most patient person an eternity in my kind of performance.
than you said... yeah you could had an ssd drive and gain a much faster loading and all that stuff, but.... i just remembered, hey... i can also buy a silicon graphics media server, that should do the job just fine hein?

do you get the point? ;)

eventually i will buy and ssd drive but i just wanted to buy one not as another "technical requirement" for and application to run as it should run in 1st place without any ssd drive. but yes to just improve even more my response time in a show or event. you know..., buy one like an option and not like an obligation or minimum requirement!!!

Hehehe. It's in beta release as we speak. So unless our kind beta testers run into any major snags, it shouldn't be too long now. Thanks for waiting!
