Hey all,
I use video in theatrical projects and am currently using the (now discontinued) ArkaosVJDMX software.
Resolume seems to have everything we need and is still supported. We are now considering a switch and a rebuild of our current show and media server...
After having read all the documentation and about to start trial setups, I'd like to know if Resolume actually utilizes multi-core processors?
I have found some old forum (3yrs+ old) that state that it wasn't, but was wondering what the current state of multithreading support is..
Thanks,
sjp

Hey SJP
The posts you read were indeed out of date, Avenue is multithreaded.

thank you very much!
Re: Resolume Avenue and multi-core procs
Avenue might be multithreaded, but QuickTime on pc does not support multithreaded decoding.
Re: Resolume Avenue and multi-core procs
is it not the GPU that decodes when using this program?levdog wrote:Avenue might be multithreaded, but QuickTime on pc does not support multithreaded decoding.

If your Video Files are encoded in the .DXV codec, then yes the GPU will handle all the video decoding.
