Enttec DMX usb / Enttec Usb Ethernet

Post by tribemotion »

I am new in using resolume and DMX, according to the manual is recommended to use the product of enttec. while in Indonesia there is no enttec sellers.
if I want to control the LED strip from resolume, can I use other than enttec product?
eg Chinese products or something else?

you don't need enttec hardware at all....but neither of what you posted will work with Resolume

one appears to be a dmx to cv converter and the other drives LEDs...

anyways, you should be able to output artnet straight from whatever lighting console you're using straight into your resolume system, via either a crossover cable or an ethernet switch.

Does it mean if I use 2 computers for visual and lighting, I just set the IP address of every computer and connect it via ethernet port?

it's a little more complicated than that, and depends on what you're using for lighting control

you'll need to set whatever lighting software you use to broadcast artnet to the network, and set resolume to receive it

you may want to read up on artnet; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art-Net and how it works from your lighting software
