I would uninstall everything Matrox related reinstall software and drivers, reset the Matrox to factory and update to the most recent firmware. I think when you do that you don't need the DP cable to be connected just the USB cable.

I don't see any way to uninstall the drivers.

I reread the manual and the only mention of my issue is here:

I had ran the System Compatibility tool on this notebook before purchase and ran it again, it says everything is good:

laptops have a switch to enable/disable the external display, Fn key + some F key.
have you tried switching that?

Thats just a shortcut button for pressing this in the CP instead:

which opens this:

doesn't really change the red light and lack of wide monitor appearing as option in the list of Displays...

I think I'd want to have the dublicate option selected since this only assumes one projector can be connected, right?

You'd want to extend your desktop.

As Ravensc mentioned, there might be a physical switch on your computer to turn that on as well.

there is no physical switch, fn + F4 is what opens the window which I mentioned. you can also access that from the Control Panel. Like I said, that doesnt change the red light and lack of Display in the list.

I think it's time you switch over to the Matrox forum/customer support and please let us know what comes out of it.

Okay, thanks for the discussion. Is there really any matrox forum for discussing tripleheads? I checked the support page and only found Q&A or support for other products of theirs.

BTW, when I extend the display, does that mean my desktop on my notebook's display + a separate 3*X * Y resolution second "Display"?
