I have not considered this or even thought of it as an option for the workflow. I'll certainly consider it if my options with changing the files to constant rate playback doesn't work!

I don't exactly see how I'd send the output from the PC to the Atamos Samurai as my graphics card doesn't have SDI output.

Hey Empyfree - do you think I could use something like this:

and another PC to achieve the same results as the more expensive hyperdeck + SSD?

EDIT:
Unfortunately using handbrake.fr to switch the file to constant frame rate did not solve my problem >_< I thought for sure that would fix it...

It does show on the properties of the file that it has changed the file to the frame rate that I set in handbrake - I choose the closest option to the listed FPS of the resolume recorded file...

I believe Jordis when he says it writes variable framerate files: what I see in Premiere is that the Data Rate/sec on the file directly out of Resolume is variable
Premiere video file properties
Premiere video file properties
(and has to do with bits not FPS?) whereas after processing with handbrake that section isn't present. This could represent what is being referenced... however I can't seem to find any kind of software that will tell me "hey this file is variable fps" - "this one isn't"

I also tried recording the output to my SSD in hopes that there'd be enough speed to keep up... the image is only 640x480 so it's not a TON of pixels and the whole piece is less than 3 minutes long...
https://resolume.com/manual/en/r4/recording
Same results...

I used quicktime player on my Macbook - When I join the resolume .mov file and my audio in quicktime player they are still out of sync!

Agggh! I'm so happy with what I get when I hit "play" in my DAW and everything is triggered live I just want to capture it true to form.

This is what i'm looking at right now:
https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/intensity/

I'm thinking of plugging in my HDMI output from the graphics card to that unit, and then plugging the unit to a different PC and recording the output. I'll probably need to contact someone at Black Magic to tell if that will work though... B&H photo weren't any help.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I went ahead and picked up a BlackMagic Intensity Shuttle USB 3.0 - once I was able to find the appropriate settings in my Radeon HD 7800 graphics card to set the output to 1920x1080 30fps I was off and to the races.

Didn't have any problem syncing the audio and video then:

Thanks to everyone for helping me get to the bottom of this! More videos to come!!!
