MA 1 OnPc Issue

Post by ferluces »

Hi, I want to connect Resolume Arena 5 with a MA1 OnPc Console.
In order to buy a License, we are testing with a Demo version, but, we can´t connect them.
Here is my set up:
PC notebook, Windows 7, MA1 OnPc 6.808
Ip Address 1: 192.168.3.110 Net Mask: 255.255.255.0
Ip Address 2: 2.20.245.86
Mac computer: Ip Address 2.20.245.87- Subnet Mask 255.0.0.0
2port Node Pro - Arnet Mode Ip Address 192.168.3.109

Everything cabled via an ethernet switch

Please, help me!!!

A few questions:
  • - I'm assuming you're using the 2.x.x.x/8 for Artnet
    - You have Arena installed on your Mac computer, right?
    - If you're using Artnet, why is your Mac on 2.x.x.x/8 and your 2port Node Pro on 192.168.3.x/24
    - Why are you using a /8 subnet (255.0.0.0) instead of /24 (255.255.255.0)?
    - Are all you subnets set the same on all devices?
    - Is your 2port Node Pro working?
    - Can you give a schematic of your current setup?

Sorry... my mistake. I´ve been researching a little and i realize that ip´s
have to be 2.0.0.xx. That´s right?
How could you set up this?
The 2port node is working... i can "see it" on connection...

If your 2port node is working then your MA1 is communicating on the 192.168.3.x/24 network so set your Mac to 192.168.3.x/24 (255.255.255.0) and you should be set.

I'm curious how everything can be connected to an ethernet switch and still have your Mac on 2.x.x.x/8 and your 2port Node Pro on 192.168.3.x/24.

Does your PC have two ethernet ports or is the 2port node connected to a wireless router? If so, make sure you're either connecting your mac to the wireless router and not the 2nd ethernet port or use a switch between your PC, 2port node and Mac.

as Oaktown said, you need to set the ip addresses to be on the same subnet range, otherwise they won't be able to communicate properly without building a good routing table.
so it's best to use manual ip assignments for a few devices.

having different subnet/ip ranges on the same switch will work just fine for each, but subnets won't be able to talk to another
