Let me offer a completely different approach:
- take the opacity of the layer (layer X) you want to triplicate down to 0
- open advanced output
- create a new screen
- select layer X as the source
- uncheck layer opacity
- change the input of the existing slice to the size of our clip and center it
- make two copies of the slice and shift them to each side
- output your screen via Syphon/Spout
- open Syphon/Spout to NDI Server and select Arena/Screen as source
- open NDI to Syphon/Spout Client and select the NDI stream
- add a layer in your composition and load the Syphon/Spout stream from the NDI to Syphon/Spout Client
3 duplicate screen in composition?
Re: 3 duplicate screen in composition?
Yes these settings are good, not sure why you had to go with 0.50001 instead of 0.5, going to check if my float values are all correct declared.
What is you comp height?

It's 1080 height 5760 wide.hive8 wrote:Yes these settings are good, not sure why you had to go with 0.50001 instead of 0.5, going to check if my float values are all correct declared.

The screens slices are:
16:9 1920 x 1080 (left)
3:1 1920 x 640 (center)
16:9 1920 x 1080 (right)
I notice since the scale is 300.00 to allow the layer to span across the entire comp tweaking the values to position each output is greatly effected by the smallest value like 0.0001 will make it move a couple pixels. ><
But still I really like the plugin. :>
Re: 3 duplicate screen in composition?
Oh thanks oaktown! The one thing is I don't really have the space to spare on the deck for the syphon inputs. It also sorta seems a bit complicated even though the demo explains it perfectly. It is a neat solution.Oaktown wrote:Let me offer a completely different approach:

I like to set up my comp with 3 main layers that duplicate across all screens and one layer above that with logos that doesn't duplicate. Then 2 alt layers that duplicate the screens that allows me to shut off the 3 main layers to hide the fact I'm preparing for the next drop. I also have a layer above those 2 alt layers for unique sounds. So that is 7 layers and I can barely see them all on my screen even maximizing the deck window.
Additionally I have chaser layers off the deck screen above all that that doesn't duplicate that are mapped to my controllers that I just memorize.
In addition to all that I have the layers mapped to the controller so if I want to span regular 1080p content across all screens instead of duplicates I have a 1 button press solution for that, that only effects the layers with duplicate functionality.
That's why it's a little important to have this ability but save deck space. ><
Re: 3 duplicate screen in composition?
Are you trying this on OSX or Win, just wondering.

Have you ever considered putting your UI monitor in portrait mode?Digitrevx wrote:So that is 7 layers and I can barely see them all on my screen even maximizing the deck window.
Re: 3 duplicate screen in composition?
I also need the horizontal realistate so my efforts are spent optimizing the vertical aspects of the problem.Oaktown wrote: Have you ever considered putting your UI monitor in portrait mode?
I've considered a 4k screen but they tend to not fit in a bag for travel. Also a touch monitor at that resolution would be pretty tough to deal with.
I could get a 2nd 1080p touch screens but at that point I feel a bit ridiculous. I'd have a lighting console sized video command center. I also don't always get my own table / space so it would be bad news if I had to rely on such a setup.
