with win2k you can have the two monitors at different sizes/refresh rates - depends only on your hardware setup. If you are looking to buy a PC for live work - check out http://www.shuttlex.com - we use one with a matrox G550 - it is excellent for resolume live work - very stable and portable especially if you can get an LCD monitor.

Hi 2 all,

Reading your problems and remarks, I miss something:

the speed of your HD.

I use 2 lappy's: one with a 40G-7200 rpm (for Resolume), and one with a 20G-5600 rpm (other thingy's).

I tested resolume on the slower disk what resulted in notable differences.
Apart from some non-significant differences between the lappy's, I'm pretty convinced that the speed of the HD can be a serious problem.
Defragment your disk regulary, and check it's rpm.

Take care

You guys need to connect the plug to a power outlet, otherwise the 8200 will run with less MHz and virtually all video playbacks suffer perfomance / quality ...

hi guys,

ive heard the fastest hd in a laptop is 4300 rpm at the moment (VAYO)... so be sure to use an external firewire hd preferably 7200 rpm.
and did u guys search for spyware and that sort of things? they clog your pipeline like nothing else..
and defragmentate your hds once a month.
another problem could be the speedstep of the processor.
on batterys a laptops processor runs at a lower Mhz speed to save batterys so always plug it in.

hope this helps...
