Hi there,
I'm getting started with a MIDI contoller and expecting some trouble right now. (Also I am a newbie to MIDI.)
The buttons at the bottom row (note 1-8/D#2, see picture attached) which should control the channels selected are not reacting in Resolume (7.4.1) - or at least only for a few minutes after starting Resolume sometimes. As long as they are assigned to something (e.g. layer select) they do as they told.
(There also was a thread allready explaining the channel mapping: http://resolume.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11655)
The following issue is that I cannot control the device knobs for channel 2-7 as only channel 1 is active all the time. Somebody knows anything that is interfering maybe with the channel selection? Can I assign a MIDI channel selection to a button only (which should happen automatically I guess)?
In the Resolume MIDI Preferences I can see that the signal is actually being processed when I push a button. In MidiView it looks similar (picture attached). Changing Middle C from C3 to C4 doesn't affect anything.
My goal: Having a layer selection via different channels, controlling layer specific effects with the 8 device control knobs and the master as channel for composition effects. This shouldn't be this difficult.
Thanks for help!

AKAI APC40 MKII Channel Problem
Re: AKAI APC40 MKII Channel Problem
Try to set the APC device in midi preferences to Generic mode.
Though this only changes the right side knobs for me to send on the selected channels.

Re: AKAI APC40 MKII Channel Problem
Thanks, this worked perfectly fine!
Another issue with the generic mode is, that pushing toggle buttons sometimes deactivate their lighting.. so after pushing an effect button it is dark. I can reactivate the lighting when chosing another layer and going back to the previous one, but it's kinda anoying. This dosen't happen in piano mode though. In both cases on/off velocity values are assigned.
Any fixes for that?

Re: AKAI APC40 MKII Channel Problem
I think that's done inside the controller itself.
Probably not much we can do about it.
