Layer State

Post by vjkatza »

Is it possible to have a layer feedback when a layer state is "Populated" or "None Populated" via MIDI ?

What you're looking for is the "Status"

I know how to configure midi status.
I will better explain what I want to achieve:
Lets say I have 4 layers, 3 layers contain running clips while the 4th layer is empty.
I want to have 3 midi buttons light up where the clips are running whlie the 4th button's light is off.
* I want to see the status of the layer, Empty or Populated

Map that button to a value of 0 on that layers playhead and leave it on "this layer" mapping mode. Then adjust your on/off led color. so when the playhead is at position 0 the light will be off, but anytime a clip is playing the position will not be at 0 and the led will be on.

Thats a neat trick!
Thanks!
