Checkout this month's issue of DJmag for a great Avenue review by Oli Sorenson (VJ Anyone). His verdict: "In short, when it comes to working audio and video simultaneously Avenue leaves the competition in the dust."

"Avenue maintains a high standard of quality for image processing by making full use of OpenGL technology across a wide variety of video layering options — including flexible video monitoring, FreeFrame effects (FFGL) and more. This means Avenue is still an enticing option for those who choose to use it solely for VJing."

Jean Poole has written a great review of Resolume Avenue for 3DWorld Magazine in Australia. His verdict: "Resolume Avenue balances quick access performance needs with depth of control, and marks a huge leap forward from earlier versions of Resolume. The audio features really set it apart, make it fun, and give it promise. Still feels a little fiddly in places, but that’s potentially something that’ll disappear after further use, and getting a good workflow process going with it. Double thumbs up!" We're packing our bags right now to catch a flight to Barcelona tomorrow morning. We'll be doing a presentation and short AV performance on Thursday night and a long workshop on Friday. We're excited to meet with our friends from Telenoika again, they were one of the first to organise a VJ festival back in 2001 called VideA. This is where we met a lot of other VJ software developers, Russel from VJamm, Renan from Aestesis, Jilt from Flowmotion and the guys that started VisualJockey. On this festival we first started talking about the open source video plugin system that eventually evolved into FreeFrame. Excited to go back 7 years later!

We have just released a new Resolume 3 Beta, version rev1110. This new beta is a lot more stable, fixes a lot of bugs and adds live video recording!

In the coming weeks we'll be working on some more improvements and new features like transport controls on the layers, audio FFT analysis and flash playback.

Fixed: Vsync in windows does not work
Fixed: Switching to BPM sync causes crash with video clips
Fixed: Quartz Composer file rendered to Quicktime movies don't work
Fixed: Loading a transparent quicktime (animation codec) crashes Avenue
Fixed: Crash when switching decks while preview monitor is playing a clip
Fixed: MIDI clock does not always work
Fixed: Bounce and Play Once don't work for video in BPM mode

Improvements:
- Don't update the clip property panel for each clip when loading a deck or composition
- Show proper device names for the capture input sources
- Much less cpu usage on Quicktime video files with uncompressed audio
